Boolean Search

Boolean search allows you to use “operators” between keywords to produce more relevant search results.

The following examples demonstrate some boolean search strings you can use with Filecamp:

"blue sky"
Find files that contain the exact phrase "blue sky".

blue sky
Find files that contain at least one of the two words. Results that contain both words are prioritized.

+blue +sky
Find files that contain both words.  Remember the space between the keywords.

+blue -sky
Find files that contain the word “blue” but not "sky".  Remember the space between the keywords.

blue*
Find files that contain words such as "blue", “blues", "blueberries", or "bluetooth".

TIP: Use double quotes to narrow down your search results for phrases. E.g. when searching for a specific file called blue-sky.jpg make sure to include double quotes: "blue-sky.jpg".
